I don't think this could be the last game, unless Cyborg Raiden dies in it. If they don't then they could make a MGS5. it could be like what happened to Raiden after MGS2.
Its very possible this won't be the last, but I don't see it happening. As much as Raiden is hated, the game probably wouldn't even sell 10,000 copies.
But, yes I would like a prequel to MGS4 set between MGS2 and MGS4. That would be nice....

Snake would be in the future for something but at the end it turns out that Snake was dreaming the whole mission and ends in a Codec call with Otacon telling him about (Whatever happens in MGS4.)

The creators can make up a new character or if the Rat Patrol Team (Meryl, Johnny, Ed, and Jonathan) are still alive we are able to pick the character we want.Plus, there is a Multiplayer mode where we can pick from the characters to fight at any places located in any of the games. The locations would be unlocked as you go through the story mode. Plus, you can play online and there is like head quarters, team death matches, and Domination.

just to say i think Metal Gear should keep going, even if snakes dead i dont know cuase ive only just got MGS4. Theres already been a few games without snake as the main character ie MGS2 and i thought it was one the best games ive ever played and theres rumours theres a psp MGS game coming out set between MGS3 and MGS that involoves u playing as Ocelot which i thought sounded quiet different but cool.
No metal gear solid 4 should NOT be the last game in the series.. it was the best game EVER and they have to make another one

and if they dont make a new game its all big boss's fault at the end he told snake to go live a normal life without battle so its all his fault!

That was a joke/prank. Nothing after MGS4, has really been "rumored" or confirmed. The only thing going currently, is "Kojima is THINKING" of MGS5."

I dont think there should be another Metal Gear game as such
but I do think there should be another game in the Metal Gear Universe
well I honestly don't see WHY he wouldn't make another considering how well the series is doing however, i also dont see HOW he could and i'd reeeaally rather not have to deal with something like MGS2 again...good game but it really would've been better if we could have played as Snake all the way through = /

What i would like to see actually is remakes of the Japanese only MGSs/ Zanzibar Land and Outer Heaven...i think that would do really well.
well u cant go forward anymore u cant and it would go far. the ending in mg4 was just fantastic and finishs it well. plus was the Liam Nessan who played big boss at the end?the only way i can see a game if it is about the beginnign of bigboss starting up fox hound.

I think that all those gaps were explained in MGS4.
And squizing something between would probably ruin the story.
To many turnovers and the story that was sold in MGS4 would be ruined.
I myself am for some remake. MG and MG2 are the perfect candidates.
If MGS was anything like Tomb Raider i would pretty much agree that there should be more, but as instead... Its nothing like it, it has a more in depth storyline and its practically been wrapped up by Konami...
Maybe if they made another prequal like MGS3 then sure why not, open the story up abit more...
But if we're talking about snake coming back for another last mission to take on another Metal Gear etc etc... Noooo
yes i think it should be the end of mgs series but not mg cause my idea of mg3 fox in a whole is good as the was a metal gear , metal gear 2 solid snake and the perfect way of doing a game so that it doesnt have to end is make it in acts if you like to call it that and mg was no.1 mg2ss was no.2 and the mgs series was just like mg2.2/3/4/5, and then out of the blue when you think its all over BANG in your face, hideo kojima back in action with the next chapter of the metal gear series Metal Gear 3: a fox in a whole (tactical espionage)ect meaning a new character or is he.
