Do you think the game lived up to it's hype? A lot of fans are disappointed about it.
I think I was the happiest man on Earth when I was playing MGS4. I think the game is great. The best game out there.
I liked it. Offline mode lived up to its hype, online was a little disappointing, but nothing major..
tell ya,,
It's the best game for 5 times playing !! why coz it shows all its secrets so i like snake but i dont like to play with his son on day i love to play as an old one even if he is still behind the scene .

I actually wasn't so happy with the game.
It went to much west.
When I watch first trailers it could be major.
But then the OSV kicked in, some stuff were left out.
Like when you are laying on your back ad enter FPV where are Snake legs, that were in first gameplay trailer???
And Camo system was really copied from MGS3. The games only inovative stuff was peoples emotions inside the game(what we don't see).
The rest is kinda a let down.
To bad...the game could be a hit.
And online mode...well...I don't know...maybe I'm an old folk trying to live in the past. It is ok. I keep playing it because it is online game in MGS universe.
But MGS3 (if it had better graphic and AI, like MGS4) would and it does stays the best MGS game to me.
We can thank Payton about giving it a western feel. The game maybe could be better without him, but I still think he did a great job. I was expecting a bit more gameplay but the cutscenes were done so great, It`s a real enjoyment watching them.
Now I`m really excited about MGS5.
I did actually enjoy it, The mission where you had to follow that guy to big mommas place aggrivated me though...me and not killing something for so long was bloody hard work.
The only grudge I had against it was when it was installing the seperate chapters after compleation of the previous one, I dunno why but there is only so much of watching snake smoking a fag for two minutes I can take.
The game-play aspect of the game was undeniably outstanding but the narrative was massively disappointing in my opinion. Firstly, BigBoss’ reappearance was absolutely dreadful. He appeared suddenly from out of the blue, talked gibberish for half an hour and then – almost unbelievably, died for a third occasion. Furthermore, The Patriots turning out to be a couple of computer AIs was equally as disappointing. Also, virtually every unexplained phenomenon in the game was put down to nanomachines. Kojima had either run out of ideas, or he was just being shockingly lazy. In summary: the game-play was awesome, the cut-scenes were brilliantly dramatic, but the story fell significantly short of my expectations.
Big Boss appereance was bad ass.
That was the best part. At least for me.
But I see what your point is. It was a bit drained, wasn't it?
If they put all cut-scene from MGS4 together, it would make a great movie. Kind of like MGS3`s bonus disc.

Yea...but MGS3 movie was actually quite bad. I expected a lot better movie. that flash back type and gameplay elements were actually the worst part.
The first MGS trailer with dropping in jungle. That was done greatly.
Something like that would be great.
i think it was the best series of all. Storyline was perfect for me.
Story line of MGS4 was kinda streched to the max. I expected more...
But Kojima totally won me with
Shadow Moses....so I?m not gonna nit picking.

It's my favorite game I have ever played. Final Fantasy VII held that spot for me since 1998 but it was finally beat.
I agree i just got a PS3 for christmas and got MGS4 and i have to say that was the best game I ever played and one of the best games ever made It was so emotional and I loved every minute of it up until the very end
