Won't boot up, or even load the recovery program.
When booting up it hangs on
"Loading PGR for descriptor 2...done."

Luckily, about 3 hours before it crashed, I had moved all of the site files to my new pc(desktop - windows vista).
BTW, my computer was out of warranty for just over 1 week, when it happened....
any suggestions? :'(
Go to the shop where you bought it, and kick their asses. Typical marketing.
One week out of varanty.
I wouldn't stop just on kicking....
I bought it online. dell.com :/
have you tried booting from CD?
I mean, I know you will loose your data, but might work.
I'm downloading Ubuntu LIVE CD, to run over it. and hopefully fix them by exploring the C:\ drive.
Probably won't be able to.
It(like most computers now-days), didn't come with a CD. It comes with recovery, and that won't load. It gives a error too.
Have you put recovery on separate partition?
Or the one that your OS is?
It came with two partitions;
C:\ which is what you use
D:\ which is the recovery.
I just loaded Ubuntu LIVE CD and explore C:\, I found a couple error files, and deleted them. It didn't help.
I could go ahead and install Linux, but since the PC is only one year old, I rather fix Windows XP.
I would advise you to use LINUX. I really like it.
I was a hard core fan of WIN, but ever since I bought eee pc, it really is working perfectly.
And besides, no worries for viruses.

I like Linux, its just idk. I like linux on old test computers, not really my main pc. Not to mention 1/2 the programs I use, won't work on linux(photoshop, flash pro, dreamweaver, etc.)
Well it is your laptop, so you know what is best.
But besides that, LINUX is really good OS.
I know its good. I've used it. And still like it, probably more so then Windows. Just, I have to use what people make programs for.
EDIT: Actually, I think I like Vista more then Linux.
Vista sucks. lol
You have to have super computer to run it normally.
Otherwise it is like XP with new skin.
"Super Computer" lol.
I just bought a decent computer, dual core, 2GB ram, etc.
Vista runs GREAT on it. I'm thinking about upgrading the RAM, but it really doesn't need it.
I think I read that VISTA was created on 4GB RAM.
So if you want the best of VISTA you should have 4 GB.
Like I said - its working perfect on 2GB. I might go to 3GB as that will be plenty for me.
Laptop is fixed.
Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit edition. Got it for free
The internet so quicker then my desktop.
My dekstop is about 1,900 download / 400 upload.
